Distribution:  In our region, this species occurs in the mountains of central Arizona and western New Mexico. There is also an isolated population in southeastern Arizona. Legal Status:  Hyla wrightorum has no protected status in our region. However, the isolated Huachuca/Canelo Hills population located in Cochise and Santa Cruz Counties of southeastern Arizona is now listed as a candidate for protection under the Federal Endangered Species Act due to extensive predation on that population by the introduced and invasive American Bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus).
