Distribution:  This species occurs in California from Humboldt to Siskiyou counties, then southward along the coast to Ventura County and San Miguel, Santa Rosa, and Santa Cruz Islands, including the north central valley eastward to the Sierras, and the south coast range.

Legal Status:  Elgaria multicarinata multicarinata has no protected status.
