We have just updated the taxonomy to reflect currently recognized names in our Amphibian Species Listings. At the same time we also completed the long-awaited salamander listings for the six states that we define as being the American Southwest. We have also started adding range maps to each of the amphibian species listings at the same time that we add photographs to it. Feel free to check out the Amphibians of the American Southwest.
I would like to thank Tom Lott, SWCHR's moderator for our taxonomy forum for his assistance with this project.
Now that we have the salamander species list complete, we need to begin adding photographs to illustrate each species. So if you have photographs of any of the listed species of salamanders, PLEASE submit them for consideration. For more information concerning the submission of photographs, please see A Call for Papers and Photos.
