The Southwestern Center for Herpetological Research (SWCHR) is pleased to announce that Will Wells' photograph of an Arizona Ridge-nosed Rattlesnake (Crotalus willardi willardi) taken in the Huachuca Mountains of Arizona has been selected as our Photo of the Month for September, 2009. Our congratulations to Will for having winning photo for the month of September.
This is Will's fifth photo to achieve Photo of the Month status so far this year. Having just one of his images selected this year as a Photo of the Month earns him a cash award of $25.00 and automatically qualifies him as a nominee in the competition for our 2009 Award for Excellence in Herpetological Photography which will be selected and awarded in February of 2010. The Award for Excellence in Herpetological Photography consist of a larger cash award and a plaque mounted certificate.
