The Southwestern Center for Herpetological Research (SWCHR) is pleased to announce that Will Wells' photograph of a Red Diamond Rattlesnake (Crotalus ruber) has been selected as our Photo of the Month for May, 2009. You may click here to view his winning image which was taken in the Jacumba Mountains of Imperial County, California near the U.S. - Mexico border.
Our congratulations to Will on his winning photo for the month of May. This is the second time this year that Will has had one of his images selected as our Photo of the Month. Having one of his images selected this year as a Photo of the Month earns him a cash award of $25.00 and automatically qualifies him as a nominee in the competition for our 2009 Award for Excellence in Herpetological Photography which will be selected and awarded in February of 2010. The Award for Excellence in Herpetological Photography consist of a larger cash award and a plaque mounted certificate.
