Distribution:  In our region, this species occurs along the Gulf Coast of Texas from Port O'Conner to Brownsville.

Legal Status:  Lepidochelys kempii is listed as an Endangered Species by both the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and by the State of Texas.
