DISTRIBUTION: In our region, Bufo (Anaxyrus) exsul has one of the smallest ranges of any North American Amphibian. It occurs naturally only in a few spring systems in Deep Springs Valley, Inyo County. (California Herps)
LEGAL STATUS: Bufo (Anaxyrus) exsul is fully protected by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and is listed as Threatened under the California Endangered Species Act (CESA).
