DISTRIBUTION: In our region, Chelonia mydas occurs along the Gulf Coast of Texas from Port O’Connor to Brownsville, and in the Pacific Ocean along the coast of California.
LEGAL STATUS: In Texas, Chelonia mydas is listed as Threatened by both the State of Texas and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. In California this species is listed as Endangered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
