DISTRIBUTION: In our region, Crotalus l. lepidus occurs throughout southcentral Texas, westward through the Trans-Pecos Region and into southeastern New Mexico.

LEGAL STATUS: Crotalus lepidus lepidus is listed as a Threatened Species in New Mexico. In Texas the species has no protected status.

MEANING OF SCIENTIFIC NAME: Crotalus lepidus lepidus (Kennicott – 1861)
