DISTRIBUTION: In our region, Hypsiglena ochrohynchus occurs in California along the coast and inland to the western slopes of the Peninsular, Transverse and Coastal Mountain Ranges from the Mexican border to the San Francisco Bay area. North of the San Francisco Bay area the species occurs on the eastern slopes of the Coastal Mountains on the west side of the California Central Valley, and on the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains on the east side of the California Central Valley. The species does not occur in the California Central Valley itself.
