Jack Reid Memorial Citizen Scientist of the Year Award
Each year the SWCHR offers cash awards to one Adult and one Junior as winners of the SWCHR Jack Reid Memorial Citizen Scientist of the Year Award.
The criteria are fairly open-ended for this award. The entrants must explain why they are deserving of the award by including a listing of achievements for the past calendar year from January 1st through December 31st.
Examples of achievements include, but are not limited to:
> Volunteer participation in bio-blitzes and other field work
> Contributions to herp databases such as HerpMapper, NAHerp or iNaturalist
> The authoring of public herp related articles or papers
> Collaboration with academic researchers
The entry deadline is in the spring of the year following the activities, and is announced in the quarterly SWCHR Bulletin, the monthly SWCHR News and here on the SWCHR Website.
The Winner in the Adult category is awarded a $100 cash prize.
The Winner in the Junior category (under 18 years of age) is awarded a $50 cash prize
The winners are selected by the SWCHR Board of Directors and announced in the SWCHR News publication and here on the SWCHR Website.
