Rana sierrae

 

DISTRIBUTION: In our region, Rana sierrae historically ranged from Plumas County in northern California, south through the Sierra Nevada range into Inyo County. A population on Mt Rose, north-east of Lake Tahoe in Washoe County, Nevada is now extinct.

LEGAL STATUS: Rana sierrae is listed as Threatened under the California Endangered Species Act (CESA), and listed as Endangered under the U.S. Endangered Species Act (ESA).
