DISTRIBUTION: In our region, Plethodon stormi occurs only in the extreme northwestern California in the Siskiyou Mountains of Siskiyou County.
LEGAL STATUS: Plethodon stormi is protected in the State of California.
MEANING OF SCIENTIFIC NAME: Plethodon stormi (Highton and Brame, 1965)
Genus: Plethodon, Greek – plethore =fullness or full of + odon = teeth — ref. to the number of vomerine and paravomerine teeth
