DISTRIBUTION: In our region, Leptotyphlops d. dulcis occurs in central and north central Texas from San Antonio northward to the Oklahoma border and westward into the lower part of the Texas Panhandle.

Genus: Leptotyphlops, Greek – leptos = slender or thin + typhlos + blind + ops = eye – ref. small size, slender aspect and lack of functional eyes
