Tantilla atriceps

 

DISTRIBUTION: In our region, Tantilla atriceps is believed to occur only in Duval and Klegerg Counties in Texas from two specimens recorded over 100 years ago. The species resides primarily in the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico and there are no known photographs of T. atriceps specimens from Texas. It is unknown if the species actually exists north of the Rio Grande River.
